Nick James was down in Houston this past weekend for the 2010 Houston College Classic, which featured nine games over three days between Texas, Texas Tech, Rice, Houston, TCU and Missouri. We'll be rolling out a recap of each day of the Classic on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, culminating in Nick's Top 20 players on the weekend (taking into account both weekend performance and draft potential). We begin with Nick's Notes from Day 1, which include a look at 2011 top-five overall hopeful, Taylor Jungmann (pictured).

Site Updates

Hello Readers,

As I'm sure you've noticed, I've added a "Features" section to the homepage, meaning this blog space is no longer going to be used to announce when we have new pieces posted. All of that will take place above. Instead, we'll use this space for links to other articles and news around the web that we think you might find interesting. We'll also mix in some quick thoughts on players, the draft or amateur baseball in general that doesn't fit neatly into an article, ranking or scouting report.

I'm down in Ft. Myers this weekend for the Perfect Game World Showcase -- I'll have updates Saturday night and Sunday night, as well as a brief article and perhaps some rankings next week. Shortstop Top 15 will post tonight, and next week we'll have our Top 30 Outfields and Top 50 Pitchers. Our Pre-Season Top 300 Overall will likely post in five parts starting two weeks from Monday.

As always, thanks for reading and thanks for all of the questions and positive feed back. Given all the questions we're getting submitted to us, maybe we'll start a Mailbag feature once the seasons get underway. Thoughts?
